About LUEsports
Lindenwood University, a private non profit college located in St Charles, just outside of St Louis Missouri. It has been around since the mid 1800s and has been a staple of the community known for its large sporting events and excellent computer science programs. Recently Lindenwood became a Division 1 NCAA school and have been expanding their influence throughout multiple athletics atmospheres. One stand out that nobody expected, was the small offshoot to esports made originally by a couple students.
A tiny basic computer lab was given to the esports "club" to use part time when nobody else was using it. In the following year they were given their own room on the top floor of the LARC building (Lindenwood's library). This was a huge step but not yet enough. Seeing as the powerlines fed into the room weren't ready for the strain that was about to be set upon them by gaming computers and would trip the breaker regularly. Throughout this most of the students stuck around and trucked through. Eventually an esports lab was built, in large part thanks to Jim Trenary, a local car dealership owner.
This new lab breathed hope into the organization and a combination of scholarship allowing the program to recruit more people, and the professional level set up, the program soared. Though many have graduated or moved on, there are still a few founding members that are with the program. One of which, Joe Kuhn, helps run it as head of production and social media. And another keystone operator in the programs success is Amanda Krsul who works production with joe on the Shoutcasting/Analysts desk. A storied history and a lot of success yet to come.
